This easy and flavorful recipe is a summertime favorite in our house! Roasts are usually attributed to fall time, cold weather, pot roasts and soups so let me introduce you to the best meat for some great summer time recipes!
What is so great about this roast is that the seasoning is very mild so it is very versatile and can be used in countless recipes. I have used this shredded bison as an entree with sides, it is so tender you don't even need a sauce over it but you can definitely top with some BBQ! I don't think I could narrow down which recipes I have loved this meat in the most so I will give you a list of all of the ways I have used this meat so far......like I said, the options are endless!
Remove roast from fridge and set out 30 minutes to an hour before cooking
Mix dry seasonings together and set aside
Pat roast dry and sear the chuck over high heat in a cast iron skillet until caramelized on all sides
Remove chuck from skillet and coat with the dry seasoning mix, be careful as the roast may be hot to the touch
Set chuck in slow cooker and add beer, garlic and onions
Cover and cook on high 6-7 hours or on low for 12-14 hours
Once time is up, shred the roast, it should be easy, if not some cook time will need to be added
Use shredded meat in any dish! We recommend, flautas, tacos, burrito bowls, enchiladas, or just as a stand-alone meat!
Recipe Note
*Do not remove lid to “check on the meat” it is doing just fine I promise and each time the lid opens you will need to add to the cook time, plus the delicious smell will be too hard to resist!
